Interview & Giveaway: Havan Fellows talks Emery's Ritches

Today I have the pleasure of visiting with Havan Fellows, who's come by to chat about her up coming book Emery's Ritches and she's brought a giveaway with her as well.

Let's do it to it!

Sweetness! Hi honey! Welcome to the Place. Come, sit here on the couch by me *scoots over and pats cushion*.
*sits real close to Amara and bats lashes* Don't mind if I do...

I’m so excited that you’re here. *smiles* Thanks for coming to sit and chat with me.
Oh this was a no brainer for cozy...sharing some wine...talking books...oh and our kittehs having a play date *grey fur zips by*

*laughs* My Loki and lil' Lapushka will be so excited to play :D So, my darlin’ Havan, let’s start at the beginning. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Well...*bites lower lip and thinks hard*...did you purposely start with the toughest question?

*laughs* Yes. *sticks tongue out*

*giggles* Oh wait! I have kiddos! Two of them...and when they are in the mood they even let me act like the mama! *big smiles* And the light grey furball bouncing back and forth is Wicked—the dark grey one that won't leave our laps is

*smiles* Nice. *scratches Spike* So, I hear you have a new book coming out. Congratulations. Tell me all about it :D
*bouncing* Thanks!'s called Emery's Ritches and is about two stubborn men who both want to have the reins in a relationship that neither of them really admits to actually being about giving me a tries to get his way through manipulation and Ritchie tries through sheer smart-assetness...*heads desk*

Ha! smart-assetness FTW! Is this your first book?
Um...yes and no. *giggles* Technically it's not my first published release, I have three short stories published in anthologies with the Story Orgy (SO) writing group I'm a member of. Now...on the flip side it is my first solo release...I am gonna try to stand on my own two feet and only whimper to my SO family instead of lean on about scary as all halibut! Emery's Ritches also happens to be book two in my Synchronous Seductions series, the first book is in the SO Word Play anthology. *big smiles*

*whispers* I'm so proud of you. That's so great Sweetness. Now tell me darlin'. ..what made you want to start writing?
Well...I'm sure this isn't an original answer, but I've just always wanted to entertain and tell stories. Even when I was a kiddo...we lived next to this shut down government testing sight (I know—explains a lot huh? lol) and every time we passed it my father would let me tell a new story as to what happened to it. Sometimes it was overrun by zombies that ate brains and sometimes the mermen (it is on a lake) would come up and claim all the people as their mates. I must have come up with thousands of reasons why that plant was closed, some happy and some not-so...but all were original and my family encouraged me and listened to them. On a side note—the sight is open again so I'm thinking the aliens brought everyone back so they could continue their

Ha! Cool. We should go there and spy out the aliens! That would be fun! Um... *mutters*... focus Amara. Ok, please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
I like to entertain people, and I think I say it best when I say I annoy, love, respect, scare, seduce, hurt, anger, infatuate, frustrate, flatter, envy, amuse and tolerate everyone; I just do it better in writing thanks to a little thing called...edits. ( might be a run-on sentence but it is still just one *blushes* and yeah, that's my tagline on twitter lmao)

*laughs* Silly Sweetness. So, m'dear, any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
*snorts* Oh, if all my WIPs pan out I'm gonna be busy for a long while. Geoff's Teddy (Book three and final book of my Synchronous Seductions series) is slated for release July 20th, plus I'm in the process of writing my SO Road Trip anthology short that is due in a month or so, along with my very first shifter book due in a couple months. Plus I'm spit shining a few books for publication, including my Djinn blog story. As for goals...I just want people to get a few moments of escape with my stories, that would make me a very successful writer!

You're busy! That rocks. What inspired the book?
Well, this book was also an SO blog story, and it just kinda formed. I was writing Harlan's Ryde (the first in the series) as a blog story off of prompts, and I had planned to write the last installment. So I sat down to write this final scene, and instead a flashback scene starting getting typed up. I was like WTF? And not only did this flashback scene happen, but a major character was introduced in it—Harlan's obnoxious best friend who was in love with him?!?! I remember talking to my muse saying this wasn't good...I can't introduce a new character when there is only one scene left! Then I started to see a whole new storyline starring Ritchie, about how he did the right thing as a best friend even if it left him heartbroken. Well darn it if Ritchie didn't deserve his own HEA he got his story.

*nods* Cool. I remember when you guys started the blog story. Very awesome that it's come this far. Which of your books was the easiest/hardest to write?
Believe it or not the same book seems to be my easiest/hardest. The shifter story I'm writing seems to be flowing really well...but I'm doing so much research to get the facts straight that my head is Now it is a paranormal so people are telling me not to worry too much about facts, but I still want the worlds to run parallel with truth, you know?

*nodnod* I like that. I'm curious, *grin*...what TV show do you watch that you'd be embarrassed to admit?
I don't know if I'm really embarrassed to admit it...but I'm a huge Psych fan. OMG that show is freaking hilarious and I never get tired of watching it...which is a good thing because when my youngest kiddo gets on one of her kicks it is always playing...*heads desk giggling* Oh, and I'm becoming enamored with Dr. Who—always loved the old series and becoming hooked on the new one.

Ha! I watch those too. What was your favorite book when you were a teen?
Now are we talking mass market or classics? I was an Odyssey and The Illiad girl all the way with the classics...but mass market—oh please give me Christopher Pike and a quiet corner to hide in. When I was young and spent time at my grandparents house, they used to punish me by taking away my books and forcing me to sit on the couch with them for 'family time'...because my nose was always stuck in a book...and evidently they always had a reason to punish me...hmm...go figure right? lol

If you came with a warning label, what would it be?
I babble...OMG yes I babble, and when you think I'm done I'll babble some more. It is the main reason I try to stay out of 'chats' with people if they don't know my habit...because yeah...embarrassing! My father used to say that talking to me was like watching the words flow out of my mouth and having to put them in the proper order before my mind changed topic and started talking about something else...but you know what—you've all just read this interview so you've seen my babbling first hand...even if it was a mild case of it...*smirks*

*gasp* You... babble...? Say it isn't so! *winks*

*smiles* That was fun. Thanks for coming and chatting with me Sweetness. I hope we get to do this again.
Well I do believe in multiples you know...hehe...and there is always the behind the scene footage just for us...*scoots closer on couch and offers more wine*

Mmmmmm, *holds up empty glass* thanks luv.

Emery's Ritches

Ritchie Lymings is wallowing in self-pity after seeing the man he loves—his best friend—reunited with his arch enemy. He's drowning his sorrows in coffee and caramel when an irritating stranger barges into his life, determined to make him smile. Even if this interloper is too dense to understand his faux pas, Ritchie figures he may be good for a quickie to get his mind off of his immediate situation. A simple round of love 'em and leave 'em sounds promising.

Emery Hutchins recognizes Ritchie immediately when he stops for his morning coffee and breakfast. His friend Ryder had been telling him stories about "the infuriating twit" for years. Fate and coincidence were two things that normally gave Emery cause for pause, but he couldn't let this opportunity pass him by. Unable to relinquish control to fate though, he immediately devises a plan to make the deliciously snarky Ritchie his own, one hundred percent completely.

But for these two diverse personalities there is one major problem. How can Ritchie's attitude and Emery's meticulousness blend together, or is this an oil and water mess?
