An Amara Giveaway: Scarlet and the White Wolf by Kirby Crow

So... silly lil' book blog grrl is back to not having much time to actually read any books. My jewelry making is keeping me rather busy, RL wants to fight with me and poor reading has taken a back seat. Again.

A few weeks ago however, I carved out some time to read Scarlet and the White Wolf by Kirby Crow. I've had it for quite awhile now. When I finished Angel's of the Deep, I loved it so hard, I rushed out and bought all the Kirby Crow books I could get my grubby little hands on. Why I didn't read this one sooner, I have no idea. I have been missing out.

I'm in love with it. Uber love.

I meant to be all official like and write a review, I got all side tracked though. Story of my life these days. If I had written a review, it would have been full of things like... This book ROCKS, FABULOUS writing, GREAT world, AWESOME characters, Liall RAWR, and on like that, with some NEED MORE STARS and KIRBY CROW ROCKS MAH SOCKS! thrown in.

Since I didn't write all that up in any coherent format I can label review, I thought I'd just show how much I liked it by giving a copy away so you can just see how great it is for yourself.

*whispers* it's sooooooooooooo great!

love Love LOVE!

Check it!....

Scarlet & the White Wolf by Kirby Crow

Scarlet of Lysia is an honest peddler, a young merchant traveling the wild, undefended roads to support his aging parents. Liall, called the Wolf of Omara, is the handsome, world-weary chieftain of a tribe of bandits blocking a mountain road that Scarlet needs to cross. When Liall jokingly demands a carnal toll for the privilege, Scarlet refuses and an inventive battle of wills ensues, with disastrous results. Scarlet is convinced that Liall is a worthless, immoral rogue, but when the hostile countryside explodes into violence and Liall unexpectedly fights to save the lives of Scarlet's family, Scarlet is forced to admit that the Wolf is not the worst ally he could have, but what price will proud Scarlet ultimately have to pay for Liall's friendship?

Want it? Of course you do. *whispers* trust me, you totally do.

This one it /totally/ different than Angels of the Deep. That one is SOOOOO dark. Scarlet isn't. Totally a different kind of fabulous. And I LOVE that Kirby can do both.

  12. I bought this book in 2008-9 and to this day I can still picture the book's evolution in my minds eye. Very rarely does a read resonate so long for me.

Even if some of you dont get the book in this giveaway, give some thought to purchasing it anyway. *S*

I loved Angels of the deep, though it took me a bit to get into it. A lot of depth and great characterisation/setting.
